Shreveport, La
Doyce H. Smith was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas, March 23, 1951, and is married to Suzanne. They have three children: Micah, Matthew, Anna Marie and 6 ½ grandchildren.
Pastor Doyce was saved at age 12 while at youth camp and not shortly after that felt the call into the ministry. Pastor Doyce is an alumnus of Gulf Coast Bible College which is now Mid-America Christian University in Oklahoma, City. It was there he met his wife Suzanne and shortly after his last year in college they moved to Asheboro, North Carolina to help start Chimney Lane Ministries in a barn with 12 other people. As associate pastor there he was worship leader, in charge of a prison ministry, sang in the Last Days Light Band, coached soccer and basketball, taught in Chimney Lane’s Christian Academy and was the daycare director of Chimney Lane Child Development. After twenty-one years of ministry in Asheboro he and his family followed the Holy Spirit’s leadership in 1994 and moved to Shreveport, La. where he became associate pastor and worship leader at the Oakmont Church of God until he became the Sr. Pastor. Pastor Doyce has sang, spoke, preached and been the worship leader in revivals and state camp meetings.
Pastor Doyce’s passion is for the church to wake up and be the church that God has called it to be. Holy—without spot, blemish or wrinkle and to reach the lost world!
Pastor Richard Young

Lighthouse Worship Center
Sissonville, WV
Pastor Richard Young began his journey on October 13, 1991 where he found himself at an altar of prayer giving his life to Christ. In January of 1996, the Lord led him to attend the Maranatha Fellowship in St. Albans.
On January 25, 1998, Pastor Richard Young answered the call to Pastor what was known as the Rose of Sharon Christian Fellowship in South Charleston, WV. In 1999, we changed the name to the Lighthouse Worship Center, and changed our direction in which we were moving. The building was old and we had spent $25,000.00 on a roof that was still leaking afterward. We decided we would sell the building and proceed to build another church in South Charleston.
A few more months passed and we still were looking in the South Charleston area, when a man by the name of Rodney Dorsey approached us about an old church in Sissonville, WV. We were not looking to relocate to a different area, but God had other plans. We put this decision into the hands of the congregation, and after much prayer, it was decided unanimously to move to Sissonville.
On December 1, 2002, we had our first service in the old Thompson Chapel Church located at 6001 Sissonville Drive. We began immediately to clear off the 1.5-acre site to build our new Sanctuary currently located on the same site. On Mother’s Day of 2006, we moved into our New Sanctuary located beside the old church. In May of 2006, Pastor Wright preached our dedication service. By 2008, we actually doubled in size and we have actually outgrown the new church building. On Easter Sunday of 2009, we had 127 people present. Our Children’s program has gone from 10 kids at the beginning of 2008 to 90 kids at the beginning of 2009. Our Mission is to “Grow in the Grace and Knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, getting the people into the Bible and the Bible into the hearts of the people.”
We are now in the process of obtaining from the State of WV a 1.6 acre site beside the church property with plans of building a new Activities building.
Pastor Richard is standing on the promise God gave him, that the Lighthouse Worship Center would be, “A City Set on a Hill that shall not be hidden.” We are excited about the vision God has given to us concerning the Sissonville area. To God be all the Glory!!!
Evangelist Edgar Martin
Thu, September 16, 12:00 pm
Sensing the call of God, Edgar Martin was saved and baptized at the age of seven and was preaching before he reached high school. At Gulf Coast Bible College (Houston, TX), he was busy preaching weekends and summers. After graduation, he went into full time evangelism, preaching almost nightly for the next decade. For nearly 20 years he traveled the nation and the continent. God was merciful to lead and anoint the meetings in nearly every state of the U.S., several provinces of Canada, Mexico and most of the Central American countries.
On a missionary journey to Guatemala, he met Sarah Burris, a dedicated Christian lady. They married in July of 1975. A graduate of Anderson College (Anderson, IN), Sarah is a wonderful wife, gifted encourager, teacher and writer. After years of traveling together, the Martins built a home. From there they continued evangelizing, leading missionary trips, assisting in church planting and other ministries. Rev. Martin has made many missionary journeys. Preaching and witnessing for Jesus, he has traveled to Israel, Egypt, Rome, Switzerland and France. His burden for souls is worldwide.
Evangelist Martin shares, “During the ‘90’s, I felt an ever-increasing burden for souls and was greatly troubled by the sins of America. My soul was thirsty for the latter rain and my heart was crying out to God for a heavensent revival that would awaken the church, rescue the nation and reach the lost world.” “In the year 2001, I was driven by the Spirit to periods of desperate prayer and fasting. I felt like Moses in the desert, or like John in the wilderness. The Lord was stirring my heart, saying, ‘Go! Preach deliverance and repentance for the Kingdom of God is at hand!’ It was a mandate from heaven to preach a clear message of hope: hope for sinners and hope for Christians that revival will come as we repent and obey God. I knew this assignment would require my whole heart and lifetime service. As I accepted this Word from the Lord; He filled my heart with a greater love for people, a new fire and a fresh anointing for the work.”
Pastor Rodney L. Taylor

The Depot
Scott Depot, WV
Rod Taylor is pastor of The Depot in Putnam County, West Virginia. He has served the church by holding the positions of assistant, associate, administrator and now senior pastor. He established, organized and has been administrator of the Teays Valley Child Development Center and Teays Valley Christian School.
Under his pastorship The Depot has completed the 2nd phase of a large educational facility expansion and has embarked upon an adventure in ministry which the church calls God’s “Wheel of Fire.” The “Wheel of Fire” is a model and vision for the church to glorify God by revealing God’s love and fulfilling God’s purposes. The model sets forth the source, center and power of all true ministry as knowing God in spiritual experience.
Four years ago God gave Dr. Taylor a word of revelation: “I have begun to give. Begin to possess.” (Deut. 2:31) “Stake your claim.” The church changed its name to The Depot and claimed it’s calling to be “a church on the move” and to live out its passion:. “To bring life in Christ to our church, our community, our country and our world.” (Acts 1:8) The cry has been “God, blow off the roof” and come in your glory. “God, blow out the walls” and let the people “come and find life” and then “go and make disciples.” By God’s favor, The Depot has become one of the fastest growing churches in Putnam County.
Rod completed his Ed.D. from West Virginia University. He serves the church with his wife, Marlene, a dedicated staff and a committed company of lay leaders.
Pastor Shane Higginbotham
Fri, September 17, 9:00 am
Hickory Christ Fellowship
Hickory, NC
Pastor Shane Higginbotham, 38, has been married to Jennifer for thirteen years and has two children, Emilie, 12, and Christian, 6. He grew up in Cross Lanes, West Virginia and joined the Marine Corps immediately upon graduating from high school. He served on active duty until 1994. During that time, the Lord began to deal with his heart and brought to his remembrance what he learned as a child. After returning home, he faced many obstacles and had numerous confrontations with death, but the Lord had different plans for him. After coming to what he calls the end the road, he decided to attend Maranatha Fellowship Church on February 2, 1994. In that service he gave his whole life over to Christ. Shortly afterwards, he felt the call to preach and began to pursue God’s will for his life. He attended West Virginia State University, Crichton Bible College, World Harvest Bible College, and Mid America Bible University.
Pastor Shane and Jennifer have been in ministry for more than nine years. He has worked as a youth pastor, associate pastor, and is currently the Lead Pastor of Hickory Christ Fellowship. He feels his greatest accomplishment is not that the church he presently serves has more than doubled in three years, but that he has learned to become a better husband, a better father and a better man.
In his own words, Pastor Shane says: “My only desire is to love my God, my wife, my children, and my fellow man, as Christ has loved me. He loved me when many did not. He accepted me when others would not. And He has never given up on me when others have. How could I ever refuse to share that type of love with the whole world. My highest aim is to love as Christ loves. If I do not know how to love, I have become nothing for Christ. All I have become is a man who speaks with empty words. Teach me how to love.”
As you have read, Pastor Shane’s passion is to share the love of Christ with all men so all may have a chance to experience Christ. “But now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; and the greatest of these is love. (1Co.13:13)
Pastor Greg Cox

Pearisburg Christ Fellowship
Pearisburg, VA
Pastor Greg and Sabrena have been ministering together for 20 years. After Pastor Greg’s time in the Marine Corps they served as youth pastors in West Virginia and Tennessee. Pastor was then the worship leader, and Sabrena the children’s ministry director at Crossroads Christ Fellowship prior to being called as the senior pastor at Christ Fellowship in Pearisburg, VA in 2004. Pastor Greg understands his call is to “equip the saints for the work of the ministry.” Believing that “the best is yet to come,” means preparing laborers for the harvest.
